Introduction

Welcome to my blog for the final module of Visual Communication degree with the Open College of the Arts.

If you are interested in my journey here you can look at my earlier blogs:

My work for assessment of these courses can be found here

I was delighted with how well my work for the above courses was received by the assessors so the pressure is on to make good job of this module.

For reference the learning outcomes for this course are:
  1. On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

    • demonstrate specialist knowledge and contextual understanding of your practice and

develop promotional strategies to communicate this to an external audience

    • initiate and undertake self-directed projects that show creative application of a personal

      visual language

    • respond to project work by undertaking and assimilating research, developing creative

ideas, undertaking visual experimentation and producing outcomes to a high visual

      standard

    • present a synthesis of your creative and technical skills and your conceptual and contextual

understanding of your practice through a sustained body of work.

The course starts with some case studies which will be referred to. I read through and analysed them, looking online for additional information about the practitioners. My notes are published as blog entries either for individual practitioners where there was a reasonable body of information or together when I couldn't find out much. Sadly it looks like some of the practitioners have stopped illustrating since the course was written.
