Influences

Reflecting on my project I can see some of the influences that got me here: 

My maternal grandmother had lovely old postcards from the days of black and white film. Some had been hand coloured, but the ones that fascinated me had been embroidered. I assume that my parents still have them somewhere - I can’t find any online images to show how they look.

A chance song on the radio reminded me of this video for the James song Moving on. I absolutely love this animation but I had forgotten about it, I’m sure that it influenced me subconsciously when making the illustrations for this project.

I can’t find anything much about how it was made, the only background is this short piece in Dezeen and this article which I’ve borrowed the photo from.
